Jon Foreman Announces Solo EP's

The past couple Fridays, I've gotten a chance to see Jon Foreman play acoustic shows (with accompaniment) where he's showcased some new songs. This week, the Switchfoot myspace announced their break from Columbia, along with a few projects in the works, including a new SF record in '08 and a collaboration between Jon Foreman and Sean Watkins of Nickelcreek under the name 'The Real Sean Jon'.

The project I'm excited about above all, however, is the 4 EP's that Foreman will be putting out over the next year. Like I said, I've gotten a chance to hear him play some of these songs, and they're lyrically astounding. They cover a broad range of emotions, but one word that comes to mind is heartfelt. They're acoustic gems and they get me excited for what's coming over the next year.

At the show last Friday (not yesterday), I got a chance to record some video footage, and was able to rip some mp3's from them. They've already been shared on Switchfoot's page, along with a review and some photos and video footage. I'm only putting up the mp3's here, one of which is a song Foreman's written with Molly Jenson. So check them out!

Yea dude I definitely am going to start following your blog! I had NO IDEA that Foreman was doing some solo stuff but then again I guess that's what I get for living on the East Coast! Great mp3s and keep us posted as to release dates of the EPs!

Hey if you have a chance post the video (if you haven't already.)Not sure if you've heard Blip.tv but it's a newer social video site that's amazing (same quality as uploaded, multiple download formats, widescreen, synication etc)

I love the juxtaposition of lushness and rawness in "Learning How To Die."

As always, great post, Arpit! :D
