Rest In Peace, Kurt Vonnegut

Kurt Vonnegut, author of Slaughterhouse-Five, amongst others, passed away last night. You might be wondering what that has to do with a music blog, but Vonnegut was a big music fan. In fact, he wrote the following in his last work:

If I should ever die, God forbid, let this be my epitaph: The only proof he needed for the existence of God was music.

And so in honor of the late great writer, I've put together a compilation based on his writing and what I've heard of his life experiences. It's a mostly alt-metal tracklist with the last song from a genre close to Vonnegut's heart: jazz. Rest in peace, Kurt Vonnegut.

Filter - Hey Man, Nice Shot

A Perfect Circle - The Noose
Sunna - I Miss
A Perfect Circle - A Stranger
Nine Inch Nails - Warm Place
Deftones - Change (In The House of Flies)
Tool - Right In Two
Bush - Letting The Cables Sleep
Nine Inch Nails - In This Twilight

Bonus: Miles Davis - Honky Tonk

Vonnegut was a great writer and those are some great songs to go along with it. But you might want to edit that a little. The artists are switched for A Warm Place and Right In Two. Just so you know.

Ah oversight - put it together as I was headed out the door. Thanks for pointing that out!

Nice list. Not immediately the stuff I'd normally listen to, but they're definitely appropriate. Thanks for the heads up.
